Internal Audit Manager

We're looking to welcome to our team an Internal Audit Manager who will be playing a key role in building internal audit frameworks for the majority of our European business at SumUp. The Internal Audit Manager will work closely with teams across SumUp and will be reporting to the Global Head of Internal Audit. 

You will plan and conduct operational, financial, and compliance audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and organizational processes. You will also oversee risk management, prepare audit reports, present findings to top management, and recommend improvements and hence contribute to overall SumUp organizational health.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead day-to-day internal audit activities in the execution and management of operational, compliance, financial, and investigative audits with a focus on Ireland and UK

  • Keep abreast of Irish and UK regulatory developments, best industry practice and SumUp’s policies and procedures

  • Assess and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, governance and internal controls across different business areas

  • Assist with coordination of internal audit related ad-hoc projects and contribute towards the development and improvement of the Internal Audit framework, methodology and templates

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and foster a proactive culture towards internal controls and compliance

You’ll be great for this role if:

  • You have a professional accountancy qualification, e.g., ACCA/ACA/CPA/CIA or a Master Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or similar.

  • You have a strong internal audit experience within the financial services sector.

  • You have an excellent knowledge of the Irish and UK regulatory environment and internal controls.

  • You are experienced in audit standards and risk management as well as dealing with various stakeholders.

  • You have excellent communication skills and a high level of integrity.
