About the team:
We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Revenue Platform domain. Your focus will be on delivering a new application and related tooling globally for our Field Sales teams, driving efficient sales and operations, and enhancing the customer experience for the merchants they interact with. You’ll partner with a Technical Product Manager and a cross-functional team of designers, engineers, and analysts to roll out new services.
This position is part of the Platform Tribe, where our mission is to enable SumUppers to build, run, and communicate innovative and cohesive products and services globally, at scale. Our Squads align strategically with SumUp’s priorities to provide robust infrastructure, streamline data processes, and develop essential operational platforms.
What you’ll do:
Establish the architecture and engineering standards for internal tools that support our Sales teams and their interactions with merchants, fostering alignment across product teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and leadership teams.
Take a hands-on approach to drive the MVP and subsequently hire Engineers to build and maintain the solution moving forward.
Collaborate with technical teams to provide Administrative APIs in accordance with our standards.
Drive the discovery and technical requirements for internal Sales tools, working with a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop solutions that minimize user friction, provide smart automation, and deliver a great experience for our salespeople and merchants.
Collaborate with Go-To-Market teams from Sales, Operations, and Marketing, sharing insights on the outcomes of initiatives and upcoming plans, as well as essential technical insights and product knowledge.
You’ll be great for this role if you have
Demonstrated experience in software engineering and hands-on technical leadership, coupled with people management expertise
Solid track record in designing, implementing, monitoring, and scaling web applications and APIs using Golang
Proficiency in Typescript, Node.js, and React
Experience leading cross-functional teams of diverse engineers
Proven delivery in complex internal domains, encompassing a mix of third-party and in-house systems.
Strong technical background, enabling effective discussion of technical concepts, architectures, and trade-offs with engineering teams.
Ability to conduct deep dives with an analytical and metrics-driven mindset.
